Jackson Sparrow | Pirate Party

As most of you will know already from a previous post I uploaded not so long ago, my little boy turned 3 recently! One of my favourite things about being a mum is planning his birthday parties… and this year is the first year Jackson had an opinion on what he wanted!! I had planned a lovely bugs party and my Pinterest boards were buzzing with great ideas (http://pinterest.com/tandykerry/bug-party-ideas/)… like glass jar party packs with magnifying glasses and edible insects inside and my favourite, a mud cake with worms and bugs crawling all over it! BUT as most boys seem to be fascinated by pirates, and every party Jackson has been to recently has been pirate themed, this has made Jackson think that all boy parties have to be Pirate parties!!

After reminding myself that this was indeed Jackson’s birthday party (and not mine) I went back to the drawing board and embraced all things pirate, including making a pirate ship birthday cake! The party was such a success in Jackson’s mind that every Saturday after his party, he insisted on having another pirate party and doing it all again! Fingers crossed he allows me to plan a bugs party next year!! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! T

Twin Newborn session | Ethan & Evie

I absolutely love photographing twins, especially twin newborns!! This session is from last year November so these little ones are already almost 3 months old now! Evie & Ethan were incredibly cute and such a pleasure to photograph. At only a few days old they were so different in personality and size it was easy to tell them apart. Evie being tiny and petite and more alert than her chilled out slightly chubbier brother. It took a few attempts to get them into position asleep at the same time and little Ethan was very happy sleeping in the basket patiently waiting for his sister to join him before we could snap away! I am looking forward to photographing them later this year… before then I have another newborn session this Friday to look forward too! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! T

Maternity-Toddler photography | Rosa & Bump

These photos were taken a while back when my friend Sandra was expecting her 2nd little one… and he is now 14 months old!! Where has the time gone??!!  This is a special shoot as Rosa, the gorgeous little toddler below, is one Jackson’s best friends! I met  Sandra through NCT and have had the privilege of knowing Rosa since she was born and  have watched her grow into a very cute little girl! Whenever we visit for a play-date, Rosa will always answer the door with her mummy and help Jackson take off his Jacket and shoes… she is very helpful and very independent! A great help too for baby no 2! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! T

London Newborn Photography | Baby Alano

I will be spending much of the beginning of 2013 playing catch up!! Meet Baby Alano – a gorgeous little baby I photographed last year! He was simply too adorable for words and was so easy to photograph! He slept for most of the shoot and was a very “happy chappie” indeed… I don’t think he had any clue what we were up too while he was in dreamland! Here are just a few of my favourites… there are some more on my facebook fanpage: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.541558949203797.142325.135312423161787&type=3 Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! Jackson turns 3!

My little (BIG) boy turned 3 in November last year! I simply cannot believe how big he is getting and am loving all that comes with his new 3 year old status! On this particular Sunday morning Jackson insisted on taking his balloon for a walk which gave me the idea to take some snaps! The sun was out and the wind was still, it was perfect! I took almost 800 photographs that morning as the light was so bright casting gorgeous shadows and Jackson was particularly cute which made a great combo! We ended the session with some friends at Munsons coffee shop (The best coffee in London) hence the last photo of me and Jackson! My next share will be “Jackson Sparrow’s” 3rd birthday party!!! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! T xxx

London Maternity Photography | Outdoor session

I recently uploaded some shots of newborn twins from earlier this year and thought I should share some pics from the Maternity session too! I love these photos… some of my all time favourite outdoor shots with all the beautiful colours and lens flares! I couldn’t decide between the bright green and burnt orange tones so decided to choose a few from each set! I hope you like them as much as I do! If you didn’t get a chance to see the Twin Newborn shoot click here… they are simply too cute for words and definitely worth a visit! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! T

Twin Newborn Session | Double Trouble

I have just recently been booked to do another twin newborn shoot, which has prompted me to put up some photos from my first ever twin newborn session from earlier this year. I was so excited to photograph little Finn and Ella as I had been waiting for the opportunity to photograph twin newborns for ages! They were so tiny and perfect! It was so special being able to photograph them knowing the bond they will share for a lifetime!

There really is something special about twins and it’s so cute seeing 2 of everything scattered around the house but I also think it’s safe to say that with twins comes “Double Trouble”!! I will never forget a good friend of mine meeting up for coffee with her little 12 week old boy dressed in pink and her girl dressed in blue because by the time she had fed them both, dressed them and then had to re-dress them she was just happy to have them dressed and out the house! Look out for my next twin session later this year.  Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! T

Maternity Session | Cape Town Llandudno

Whenever I go back home to South Africa for a holiday I try do a few photography sessions. Mostly because Cape Town is so beautiful with such stunning locations it’s hard to resist and also because I have lovely friends and family who want me to take photographs for them! Below are just a few pics I took of the beautiful Irini, who was expecting her second child, and her handsome little boy John-Loukas. I often envy South African photographers with such beautiful backdrops at their fingertips! If you ever visit Cape Town, make sure Llandudno is on your list of places to visit… it’s absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! T

London Newborn Photography | Charlie

This cute little baby pretty much slept the entire session! He was a complete angel and only opened an eye occasionally to check up on us. We managed to get so many great posed shots in this session it was really hard to choose! I ended up selecting shots based on the colours rather than poses as I simply love the rich dark browns with the caramel coloured sheepskin! I hope you love them as much as I do! Meeting up with the Webb family yesterday has motivated me to share photos from their shoot earlier this year!! Chandos House Wedding | Melanie & Valerio

As you all know we often have the privilege of photographing weddings at Chandos house… and I must say it is definitely one of my favourite London venues! Our first wedding we photographed there were of close friends and every time I go back I fall in love with it all over again! We had such a wonderful time photographing Melanie & Valerio, what a handsome fun couple! They were such sports braving the wet weather getting those beautiful outdoor shots! By the end of the wedding we felt we had truely connected with them after all the beautiful speeches made and all the fun had on the dance floor! We have another wedding coming up this weekend at Chandos House so look out Facebook for some sneaky peeks soon! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! Come back soon! T

London family portrait photographer | Drake Family

It’s not everyday I get to photograph such a sports fanatical family like the Drake Family! I can bet at least one of these talented kids will be on Sky Sports one day!! Henry braved the cold weather showing me his footie skills, while Ella ran around the garden keeping warm before showing me her killer serve!! Ruby patiently waited in her pretty pink bedroom surrounded by all things pretty and pink until it was her turn to perform in her adorable ballet outfit!! I hope you enjoyed looking at the photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them!  Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! Come back soon!! TLondon Family Portraits

London Wedding Photography | Michael and Amy

Finally Michael and Amy are up on my blog and it’s all thanks to my lovely intern, Heather, who has helped me get these posts ready!! Michael and Amy’s wedding was such a great experience as they were our first American couple we’ve photographed who provided us with authentic “peanut – jelly” sandwiches while photographing the bride behind the scenes! Amy had a lovely big bridal party dressed in gorgeous midnight blue dresses bubbling with personality making the day really fun! As most of the guests were from America, not only were they enjoying a traditional english style wedding, but also reuniting with Michael and Amy on their wedding creating a real buzz of excitement and happiness! Anton and I photographed Mark and Tara’s wedding towards the end of last year at Chandos House. The happy couple were exactly that… Happy! Certainly one of the happiest couples I’ve ever photographed… they were smiling from ear to ear with pure joy at being husband and wife making it super easy for us to snap away great shots! Adding to that we had glorious sunshine stream through the sash windows during the ceremony making the whole room turn to gold! Absolutely Beautiful! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! West London Baby Photography | Nathan Oscar

You might all remember little Oscar from a blog I did last year called “Watch Oscar Grow”. From the day Nathan was born his growth was captured by iphone everyday by his dedicated father and uploaded online so everyone could see how he changed from day to day! I totally love this idea and if I had thought of it myself I would have definitely done something similar! Maybe for the next one! ;) Anyway… lucky for me I was commissioned to photograph little Nathan and have now contributed to his visual growth story! I’m sure you will all agree with me that he is totally too cute for words! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! T

London Wedding Photography | Nat & Ron part one… I do!

I recently had the privilege of capturing Nat & Ron’s big day! When I say “I”… I should actually say “We” as my husband (Anton) and I photograph weddings together! Anton, along with many other creative outlets, loves photography almost as much as I do so whenever you see a photograph of myself on my website you now know who the photographer was! Right, back to Nat & Ron!  What a beautiful day! The weather was miserable all week leading up to the day and then the Saturday morning the clouds parted and made way for the beautiful sunshine that made the day that much more special! The only challenge for me was choosing photographs to upload as I can’t upload all of them! Here is part one… “The getting ready” up until the “I Do’s”. I will upload part two tomorrow! Stay tuned! Family outdoor sessions are fantastic and I always try and persuade clients to venture outside if they are wanting some big family group shots. Photographing the Green family was a real pleasure as all three girls are so beautiful and full of personality I didn’t want the session to end! We started off at their house in the garden, then made our way out to a beautiful field not far from the house and then ended the session with a big bubble bath!! I will definitely be posting more photos from this session soon! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing!

Bump and baby shoots are fast becoming my favourite shoots! I love meeting the expecting mum who has just just gone on maternity leave waiting for her bundle of joy to arrive! The nursery is lovely and new, full of cute little things from loved ones who are all excited about the new little baby on the way! Then once we have captured the beautiful bump comes the second part of the shoot… Meeting the new addition to the family! It is such a precious time and I feel so lucky that I get to capture it! It feels like just yesterday that my little boy came home from the hospital and he is about to turn 2!! That is precisely why photographs are so important because the moment is over so quickly but the memories are there forever!  Thank you for looking, reading and sharing!

Although with a busy calendar I haven’t been able to do it as fast as originally planned so thought it was time to put up some recent work! Tandykerry baby photography… little Jago

Hello everyone! I have had a busy weekend photo editing and am very excited about all the photos I will be sharing on my blog! I thought I would start with little Jago who I shot in December last year. In fact this shoot was on the big snow day we had last year just before Christmas. So during the shoot I could see the snow falling heavily outside the windows and my car was totally covered in snow when it was time to go home. It took me about 4 hours to get home after it only took me 15 minutes to get there pre-snow! It was worth it though, as I loved meeting little Jago and even though we had limited light we had a great shoot! Thank you for reading, looking and sharing!

Tandykerry toddler photography… doing what I LOVE!

Hello everyone! 2011 has arrived and unfortunately for me it started with a bug and I was sick in bed with the flu! (which is why I have not blogged for almost a month!!) But now that I’ve got that out of the way I am back at work and so happy to be doing what I love! Here are some photos taken in December last year of a little boy who’s surname is Love! Mr Love is 100% lovely and I am sure you could all do with a little bit of Love while the weather is so miserable and grey outside! Come on London can’t you do more sunny winter days!! Now I’m sure we would all LOVE that too!  Thank you for reading, looking and sharing!

This is my first “Teen” shoot and I must say I really enjoyed it! It was quite refreshing having a model that firstly, understands me and secondly listens to instructions! As you know most of my usual suspects are mostly chewing on Sophie the Giraffe and more interested in playing with my camera then being photographed. I personally think Miss Mel is beautiful and I love these shots of her! Thank you for Looking, reading and sharing! T

West London Baby Photography | Capturing Seanna…

Seanna is a beautiful little girl I photographed recently. I fell in-love with her instantly… not only is she pretty petite and simply adorable but her little happy nature shone through on the day (which was a good thing as the sun wasn’t as bright) and we were able to do about 4 wardrobe changes with her! There are simply too many photos I love from this shoot – so I will definitely upload the full album on my website (when I find the time) as I would love to share them all! Here are just a few from the day… Enjoy! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! T

Jackson’s rockstar party

Ok so you’ve seen Jackson opening some of his presents and you’ve seen me frantically baking guitar cakes and sweetie-cupcakes… now it’s time to see the party pics! I must say I really enjoyed his first birthday party… yes it was a little chaotic at times but what first birthday party isn’t! For me the highlight was having our family in South Africa set up on skype on 2 computers in the living room singing happy birthday with us and all of Jackson’s friends! We had the lights off so all you could see were our families on the monitor and Jackson’s face in front of his first little candle! I will treasure that memory for many years to come!

London Wedding Photography | The groupies…

This is my last wedding blog entry! I am very excited about all the babies I’ve captured recently and can’t wait to blog about them too!! But in the meantime enjoy the last few photos from Chandos House! I must say every time I shoot a wedding my least favourite part of the day is doing the group shots! First there is the long list of relatives who’s names I can’t pronounce and who are all suddenly nowhere to be found or are on the toilet when it’s their time for a photo! I am sharing these photos because I love them and think it just goes to show that group shots don’t have to be staged formal photos! It does help having a great backdrop… beautiful guests… and the handsome couple of course!

In the build up to Jackson’s first birthday I totally forgot to finish my wedding sequence!! Sorry about that! Aren’t they a handsome couple!! (BTW for those of you interested in Jackson’s first birthday party… don’t worry I’ll be blogging all about it when I get a moment!!)

London Outdoor Photography | Autumn Leaves

Outdoor location photography is fast becoming one of my favourite shoots! This Autumnal photography session was about 6 weeks ago when all the leaves had just turned orange and were starting to fall off the trees! If you get your timing right it is simply a magical setting with all the different shades of yellow and orange. I think it’s safe to say Autumn is over as it is snowing outside… quite a different picture altogether! Perhaps my next outdoor shoot will be a snowy one! :) I hope everyone is getting all their Christmas shopping done!

London Wedding Photography | … You may now kiss the bride!

So we have seen the beautiful bride and her gorgeous daughter getting ready… and we have seen the handsome groom behind the scenes… it is now time to share the BIG moment!! Amazing how many months of planning goes into preparing for this very moment which is often the shortest part of the day. I know as a photographer it’s one of the most stressful parts of photographing a wedding … try get a kissing shot without 50 million digital cameras hovering above everyone’s head as they all try and get that shot! Luckily Anton and I both got beautiful shots from both angles with very little interference from over enthusiastic guests! Enjoy!!

London Wedding Photography | Getting ready…

…has to be my favourite part of any wedding. I simply LOVE detail and anyone who knows me will know I can go OTT when it comes to detail…which is sadly often missed by the guests as their eyes are glued on the handsome couple! This is why I love to make sure every little bit of detail is captured so that no memory is lost! As I have already shared Rosa’s getting ready I think the next thing to share is the very beautiful bride preparing for her special day! You can feel the excitement in the air.

London Wedding Photography | Rosa’s mom and dad get hitched <3 <3

It has been well over a week since my last blog entry… for those of you who are following my blog I’m sorry for being so quiet! The good news is that I’ve been really busy photographing lots of beautiful babies all over London and even a particular beautiful baby’s mom and dad getting married! My husband and I had the privilege of capturing Mr and Mrs Dibley’s special day a few weeks ago at the stunning Chandos House. I thought i’d share my favourite photos from the day! I will be blogging about their wedding over the next couple of days so look out for the photos! I thought I would start off with Rosa… also known as “Sweet Rosa”. Below are a collection of photos of her getting dressed for a very important day! Enjoy…

West London Child Photography | Naughty Austie…

… isn’t actually naughty at all! I simply couldn’t resist the rhyming title! Austie, also known as Ben Ten, was not the easiest little boy to photograph! Capturing his personality involved a day of army crawling around the house fighting aliens and watching toy story DVDS! (Thank goodness for the latter!)
You will not find a cuter boy in Ealing (Apart from Jackson of course) who simply says the cutest things! He once told my little boy – who was 6 months at the time and could only say “hay” over and over again – that “hay” is for horsies!  Need I say more? I hope you like the pics!!

Photography tips for shooting toddlers

Photographing toddlers can be the biggest challenge on a shoot but also the most rewarding! I often spend most of a 3 hour session on my hands and knees playing with them and trying to get them to engage with me and the camera but sometimes that isn’t enough!  I have learnt a few tricks along the way and now let my mom’s know before the shoot what to have on standby if need be!

So here are my 5 top photography tips when shooting Toddlers: (These might seem like they are from the land of the very obvious, but it’s often during the frenetic activity of a shoot that you can forget these simple concepts!)

1.photography session=play session. Try and make the shoot as much fun as possible… so that they enjoy every minute of it!

2.Plenty of snacks and refreshments on hand…. even a few naughty snacks reserved for special occasions.

3.Grown-up toys that are usually out of bounds keep toddlers still when you want to get those wonderful up-close shots!

4.Change of scenery… the moment a toddler starts getting grumpy it’s time to move on…

5.TV time… a great way to end a shoot as they can relax with some raisins in front of the telly while I snatch those last few shots.

I thought I would share some photos of “Dirty Bertie” one of my very cute toddlers I captured recently and I have to say it’s thanks to those tips that I managed to get these shots! Thank you for looking, reading and sharing! T

Meet Oscar… beautiful big eyes and milky white smooth skin – a photographers dream! He was a bit camera shy at first but once his daddy started singing “Matey boy” – a homemade tune – he was all smiles! :)

Oll1e’s first birthday.

I have recently shot 2 first birthdays… a pink one and a blue one! It was so lovely to share in both special occasions and capture the day so the memories will be treasured always! I love the fact that as a photographer I am part of so many people’s happy memories and that my photographs will get cherished for years to come! I will upload some photos from Sofia’s first birthday (the pink one) in a couple of weeks time so look out for them. In the meantime wish me luck as I start to plan for Jackson’s first birthday…  Mmmm I wonder who will take photos at Jackson’s party!? :)

West London Baby Photography | Lovely Lilly

Too much time has passed since my last entry! Shame on me… Well I have good reasons… one of which was celebrating my first birthday as a mum!  :) Enough about me… Who is the lovely Lilly? Lilly is the older sister of a little Girl (Sophie) who I shot recently… I managed to get a few shots of Lilly too even though the focus was more on Sophie. Lilly is a very keen photographer herself and took plenty of pictures of me taking pictures of her with her little bright pink digital camera. I would love to see her photo’s :)

My first super (tiny) model… Ollie Wollie.

Oliver David – the cutest boy in Chiswick and also Jackson’s best friend – became my first small super model. I loved telling the story of Ollie Wollie – photographing everything from his favourite toys to his toes and eyelashes! Ollie’s little personalty is a beautiful one. He is soft and cuddly with a quietly confident attitude to exploring the world. He is very tactile and loves playing with a single toy in his cute chubby hands. When you pick him up for a cuddle he will place his little hand on your cheek and make your heart melt. Ollie has the most beautiful blue eye’s I’ve ever seen on a baby and they are framed by the longest eyelashes which help him win you over when he gives you a cheeky grin. If you are a lucky recipient of one of Ollie’s charming smiles you will treasure it for a long time as he he doesn’t just smile at anyone, only special people. Meet Ollie Wollie…

London Newborn Photography | My beautiful babes…

Tandykerry’s existence was inspired by “my beautiful babes”. Jackson my little boy… my perfect subject matter, has not only turned me into a full time mum but also a full time photographer. I feel as though every new milestone calls for a new photoshoot as I don’t want to forget a single memory. As a new mum i’ve had the wonderful privilege of meeting lots of mums and their sweet little ones and capturing their little personalities has been a wonderful experience. I would like to dedicate my first blog entry to Jackson and all “my beautiful babes” – they know who they are!
